The first BCoM Jobs and Careers Convention attracted up to 25 employers, service providers and Educational establishments. The agencies ranged from the Job Centre Plus, BWFC, Bolton Council, Bolton Community College, Cohen's Chemists and many more.

The event was hosted by the University of Bolton at the Eagle Mall. In spite of torrential weather, up to 300 people braved and presented themselves at the convention.

The aim of the convention was for young people to gauge potential future careers, enrolling on apprenticeships and speaking with professionals of different backgrounds. The young people had the opportunity to take applications for summer jobs and work experience.
