The Bolton Council Of Mosques have made clear, in the strongest possible terms, the news of a horrific murder that has taken place in Woolwich, London is unacceptable and those responsible should be brought to Justice. This is a truly barbaric act that has no basis in Islam and we condemn this unreservedly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his family.

The BCoM started off as a burial committee and have for years supported other towns and groups in improving their Burial Procedures. BCoM delivered a ghusl training to a group from Manchester Taraj Muslim Society who sent us this response:

The BCoM is organising a 'Mums & Daughters Casual Swim' At Bolton School, Chorley New Road. The sessions will be £3 each, providing access to floats and armbands and attended by a female lifeguard.

Based on feedback received from the  student body and due to the growing number of students that require facilities for religious observance, Smithills School have allocated two rooms in order to set up a faith room with full ablution facilities. The faith room will be a prayer/contemplation area for use by students, staff and visitors to the school and the school would like to involve students and the wider community in an effort to raise funds to set up the faith room and also to be involved in the design layout and facilities of the proposed room.

With the downturn in the economy, people feeling the pinch, working harder and for longer, struggling to cope with demands of day to day life, relationship strains, money woes and a whole host of issues, there is a growing demand for counselling, advice and guidance.
