9th April 2006. Presentation Awards Evening.

Bolton Councils Sport Health and Inclusion Services in conjunction with NEW XI Cricket Club, Crompton Cricket Club and Bolton Council of Mosques Youth Forum organised a CommUNITY Cricket competition at Bolton Arena on the 9th April 2006.


Around 250 Young people took part in the cricket competition which was a first in its kind carried out on such a large scale held at such an extreme venue – Bolton Arena.

The Tournament involved young people between the ages of 9- 16yrs coming from different backgrounds and communities of Bolton to show off their batting and bowling skills. The Runners up for the Young people’s – Yr-6-8 competition was British Heroes and the Winners was Taiyabah Mosque A team. In the Yr – 9-11 the Runners Up was Pakistan U16 and the Winners Hayward Legends.

Nobody left empty handed, as all the young people were presented with participation medals and all the teams were given Cricket Sets to continue playing over the cricket season. The Competition was funded by Greater Manchester Local Network Fund.
