Every Child Matters in Madrasah - Safeguarding Children

Bolton Council of Mosques has launched a programme of development as part of their commitment to safeguarding children in the Madrasah's across Bolton.

Working with Bolton's Safeguarding Board, 27 volunteers have signed up to a 2 day Child protection 'train the trainers' course delivered by Anne Walton of the Bolton Council's Multi Agency Training team who support them in training other volunteers to safeguard children in their care, across the 16 Mosques in Bolton.

Anne Walton said

I felt the 2 days went well and I was very impressed by the participants. Everyone was enthusiastic and willing to learn and participate. On a personal level, I was impressed by the welcome and courtesy I was shown. I think you have the potential to do some really good work in the Mosques and I hope the course will have helped you. I also hope this is the beginning of us being able to work together on safeguarding issues.

At the end of the course each volunteer was given a CD and other information to help them deliver the course back into there Madrasah's.
