Every Child Matters in Madrassah - Fire Safety Awareness
Mosque & Maddrassah Support

Bolton Council of Mosques in partnership with Greater Manchester Fire Service set up a workshop at the Al-Falah Education Centre Mosque on Deane Rd.

Over 30 young people were made aware of how fires are started and to be safe in the home.  All young people will receive an AQA accreditation for taking part.

This year has seen a number of fires directly involving families from the Muslim Community, "This is one way of educating the community and sending a message to parents’ as well as educating the children at the same time" commented Inayat Omarji - BCoM Children and Young people manager.

Gary Charnock of the fire service who delivered the session said "It is important to reach as many people in the community as possible with the Fire Safety message and this is why I welcomed the opportunity to present at the Mosque. Partnership working always helps to reach out to communities that are hard to reach and this is a start of it."

The Bolton Council of Mosques in conjunction with the fire service will be carrying out more workshops with many other young people in different areas of Bolton as part of the Every Child Matters in Madrassah project.
