Madrasah First Aid Training for Young People

The Bolton Council of Mosques recently facilitated a series of First Aid courses for young people aged from 5 – 19 years.

The participants were recruited from selected Madrasahs from within the town, including Zakariyya, Sughra, Makkah and Al-Falah. The Basic First Aid course was provided for the young people providing them with basic knowledge and skills that they may require when faced with first aid situations within their environment.

 

First Aid

The key life saving skills taught to the participants included control of bleeding, bandaging, resuscitation, treatment of unconscious casualty, the recovery position, and looking at the contents of a first aid box.

The course, run by St Johns' Ambulance, was funded by the Bolton Council Vision Fund and took place at the new BCOM Offices now situated Off Cannon Street.

First Aid

Upon successful completion of the course all participants are to receive accredited certificates from the AQA board in addition to the qualification presented by St Johns' Ambulance which is valid for three years. The participants also received a complimentary basic first aid box to take home.
