Interfaith Spirit of Bolton Event
Past Events

In May of 2007, BCOM joined in partnership with other faith communities and led by the Interfaith Council, to help organise a hugely successful event.

The Spirit of Bolton event saw a full day of activities, displays from various organisations and speakers from throughout Bolton. Held in a marquee in the town centre, there were hundreds of people who attended, ever so slightly facilitated by the heavy rain and the need to find shelter for many of Bolton's shoppers.

On behalf of BCOM, Zara played host for part of the event as well as an established elder, Mr Iqbal Essa, who said a few words about what it means to be Muslim and living in Bolton.

As always our display stand was full of activities we have been doing and are currently involved in and created much interest from both Muslims and Non-Muslims, many of whom have very little understanding of the Islamic faith and of the Muslim community residing here.

Spirit of Bolton Event

The event provided a perfect opportunity to share our experiences and our faith with others. It helped exemplify the need for joint working and living in harmony with people with other beliefs. In Bolton we are fortunate to have a very diverse population, all of whom can live and work peacefully together. We are indeed all a part of the Spirit of Bolton in some way or other and we would like to thank all the participants, volunteers and partners for all your excellent work!
