More than 450 young adults got the chance to let the police know their views as they attended the Greater Manchester Police Authority 'You Choose' sessions staged at Old Trafford and Bolton Arena in early December. ![]() The Bolton Council of Mosques, facilitated a workshop in conjunction with the counter-terrorism unit. This raised awareness of terrorism and how it can affect all of us, anywhere, at any time. The young people got to use 'ask the audience' handsets, and give their honest opinions- including one young man's belief that his mum was a terrorist to him. Other workshops covered issues relating to guns and gangs and policing priorities all in a fun interactive manner. The days were designed to fit into the crime and community aspect of the citizenship agenda of the GMPA, whilst giving young people the opportunity to think about their own communities and how it is policed.
The event was a huge success, all those that attended enjoyed the day immensely. |
