Unity and Diversity 7th Annual Inter-Mosque Football Competition

Sixty four teams from across 19 Mosques of Bolton came together at the Bolton Arena on Sunday 17th August 2008 to battle it out in the 7th Annual Inter-Mosque Football Competition organised by the Bolton Council of Mosques.

The rain didn't dampen the spirits of the 400 people present including the players, parents, Mosque leaders and teachers who came to watch their teams compete for the prestigious title of becoming winners in 2008.

Finalists from the Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 age category were also given the opportunity to take part in the Inter-Faith Football Competition.

Muslim and Christian Teams came together on Sunday 24th August 2008 taking part in some skilful display of football by young people from all age groups. It was great to see so many young people and parents from different communities and religions coming together to take part in this Annual Football Competition.

A special awards evening is planned for all the participants, winners and runners-up at the prestigious Reebok Stadium as part of the Kick it Out Celebrations in October 08.

This Year’s Competition was funded through the UnLtd fund with contribution from the British Army and supported by the Bolton Wanderers Football in the Community and Sport Health and Inclusion Services.
