Through Community Development and Leadership, BCOM seeks to empower individuals and groups by providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to effect change in their own communities. We believe community development is the process of developing active and sustainable communities based on social justice and mutual respect. With a Community Development Officer in post now, BCOM offers support to community and voluntary groups in Bolton. The work includes capacity building, identifying group support needs and helping them to raise their profile. BCOM can now advise and support you with set up of new groups or with existing groups to develop your management committee, business plans, identify funding and support you with writing bids along with offering you training opportunities where needed to develop you and your organisation.
