Direct Line: 01204 362639
- Has completed the TESOL post graduate certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages and subsequently taught in the Bolton Community College on a part time basis for two years.
- Went on to Practice counselling at the St Georges day Centre in Bolton accumulating over 120 hours of counselling before initiating and assisting to set up the BCOM counselling service; a counselling service which is culturally appropriate for more specifically Muslims and generally for the other ethnic groups in Bolton and around Bolton; under the auspices of Bolton Council of Mosques (BCOM).
- Worked on a part time basis with BAND as a Community Development Worker and remained in the post till March 2009, pioneering the forming of the linking minds and other relevant works forwarding the government agenda of delivering race equality in mental health provision.
- Commenced the role of counselling coordinator at BCOM counselling service.
- Has been working towards encouraging the Muslim population of Bolton and the other ethnic groups to access such a service to improve their mental wellbeing. Thus far hundreds have benefitted from this free service, quite obviously lightening the burden upon the mental health provisions of the local PCT and benefiting those who otherwise would not have accessed a conventional counselling service.
- Lecturer in Islamic Theology at Al-Jamiah Al-Islamiyah, Bolton
