This year’s competition was targeted to encourage the parents and younger players to participate. Teams from across the Bolton Mosques spent a day at the spectacular Power League indoor Football Stadium in Manchester. This year’s aim was to encourage primary school children from year 3, 4, 5 and 6 to participate and also to encourage the parents to come and give their support. Over 400 young people and parents took part and made this year’s football competition once again a success.
Parent volunteers helped to keep the scores, whilst the apprentices and staff from Bolton Councils Sport Health and Inclusion inter-acted with the parents and young people to encourage more volunteering and offering opportunities into sport. The competition year in year out sees the teams becoming more and more professional in their approach. Madrasahs taking the time out to undertake football coaching, to team kits being sponsored to really encourage engagement.
Mosque Teachers, and parents came out in force encouraging and providing tactical support to the young people eager for their Mosques to take be the best in Bolton.

The following teams went through to the finals with the winners as follows: Year 3 and Under – Taiyabah v Ashrafia – Winning Team: Ashrafia The Winners and Runners up now play in the 3rd Annual Inter-Faith Football Competition
