Fifteen girls from across the borough as part of Bolton Council of Mosques and KRIMMZ Girls Youth Group excelled their way into the world of leadership development to enhance themselves to develop as future leaders.
The Youth Leadership Development Course which was organised by young people for young people as part of the criteria of Bolton Council’s youth opportunities funding.
The aim of the program was to develop and enhance their skills, give confidence and nurture new and emerging leaders to take an active role in providing and take lead in activities and initiatives in the future. Mariam Aleem who took part in the course said: “The leadership course was very intense and challenging. I think the course will help me and the group develop further and also help us achieve more in the future” The two full day packed with exciting and challenging topics and scenarious took place at the prestigious Victoria Halls during the February half term and was delievered by Innov8 Training olutions. Facilitator Aamer Naeem said: “'I saw real growth during the programme. Some of the young ladies were very shy and hesitant at the start, yet less than 48 hours later they were confident, engaging and making powerful presentations. The group bonded together and their openness to new ideas and processes allowed maximum value from the two days.” Young people will receive accreditation and certificates for taking part in the course. A presentation ceremony will be held during the Easter holidays for this.
