BCOM COUNSELLING SERVICE
Counselling Service

The BCOM Counselling Service was established over two years ago, primarily to provide a more culturally appropriate counselling service for the Black & Minority ethnic community of Bolton and the surrounding areas. However we do provide a service to the white indigenous population of Bolton too. The services offered are one to one counselling, couple counselling and specialist Islamic counselling for clients from the Islamic faith.
All counsellors are qualified in person centred therapy but work with an eclectic approach with the core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence.
The counselling service is a member of the British association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and we adhere to their ethics and code of good practice.
Counselling sessions can be conducted in English, Urdu or Gujarati for people experiencing any issues, such as:

• Traumatic experiences
• Drugs related problems
• Depression
• Relationship problems
• Anger management
• Bereavement
• Alcohol/Drugs
• Anxiety
• Work related issues
• Low self esteem
• Religious issues

Objectives:
 Offer a culturally appropriate, confidential and highly professional service
 Raise awareness of the benefits of ‘talking therapies’ to the BME population
 Provide a community based service
 Work towards improving the mental wellbeing of the Bolton population
 Provide relevant training to volunteer counsellors

Counselling sessions are free of charge and are offered at the BCOM premises situated at:
