Seema Musa, a student from the Bolton Muslim Girls School had the opportunity to carry out her work experience at the BCoM Offices.
The Bolton Council of Mosques supported 5 young people this year to carry out different office duties and youth work for two weeks. Below is a summary of Seema Musa's work experience:
Hello, my name is Seema Musa and I did my work experience at Bolton Council of Mosques. My Work Experience only lasted five days; however it was a very enjoyable and cultivating week. At BCoM, I was given some very rare opportunities to do things that I would usually not be able to do. I was given the chance to work in the front office, answer calls and address peoples queries.
I chose to do my work experience at BCoM, because I wanted to experience working life and improve my confidence, responsibility and ability to work as part of a team. The Bolton Council of Mosques does many things for the community of Bolton and as part of religious education children from various schools, Brandwood Primary School were able to visit the local Zakariyya Masjid. They were given a tour by the staff at Bolton Council of Mosques and had the chance to ask questions about the mosque.
I would recommend anyone looking for a work experience placement, or willing to do youth volunteer work to come along to Bolton Council of Mosques, as I can guarantee that they will have a very enjoyable and informative time.
