Funding Seminar – 21st January 2009
Community Development

The Bolton Council of Mosques ran a successful Funding Seminar on 21st of January in the evening 6.00pm – 9.00pm. This was targeted to ethnic minority groups, particularly the Muslim community and also to people who had full time commitments who therefore would not have been able to attend any day time events.

The seminar was to inform groups of what funding was available locally in Bolton and on a national level, and what support and advice avenues there were for them to access for their groups.

Existing Partnership networks allowed the BCoM to bring together the following organizations who delivered on the evening.

·Bolton Council – External Regeneration and Funding Team

·The Charity Commission

·Greater Manchester Community Foundation

·SERCO

·Business Bolton

·Bolton CVS

Over 25 groups booked a place to attend and benefited from gaining information, but also had the opportunity to ask relevant questions and queries they had direct to the presenters. This was a successful event, highly valued, with positive feedback from both the community and from professionals involved.

BCOM is available to offer support in identifying funding for groups, help set up projects and activities, help with managing groups, writing policies and procedures, support you with your business and action plans, and also to put you in touch with the right people and authorities in order for you to develop and become successful and professional in your organisations.
